Cuts Steakhouse, Atlanta, Georgia

Cuts Steakhouse (Atlanta, Georgia)

In the heart of downtown Atlanta, the outdoor ground-floor patio with lights wrapped around a couple of trees and draped from beam to beam attracted me to Cuts Steakhouse. I took a seat at this prime Southern-stye steakhouse by the stone wall, between the wood pillars and sconces. Greenery in wood planters along the sidewalk provides some privacy for diners as they peruse a menu characterized by upscale twists on popular Southern dishes.

Fork and KnifeTry This: Dive right into that Southern spirit with a sweetened iced tea and an order of herb-crusted fried green tomatoes with scallions, tomatoes, and crumbled blue cheese. Then select your cut of steak and one of six degrees of temperature you’d like it cooked to. I opted for the New York strip steak, medium, which came with a selection of nearly a dozen side dishes to choose from. Roasted mushrooms and creamy cheddar grits struck the perfect balance (although the truffle asparagus sounded tempting).
