The countdown clock to Cinco de Mayo was in its final week. My mood for an excellent Mexican dinner increased with each second that ticked down on the clock under the pottery and urns attached to the wall. Paintings of blue agave, as well as the black-and-white Day of the Dead skeletons drawn behind the pendant lights over the bar, enhanced the atmosphere, as did the laid-back and happy crowd.

Here at Agave Grill, you’ll be treated to a long list of beers, wines, margaritas, and specialty cocktails as well as “an eclectic menu of modern Mexican masterpieces.” Those masterpieces come in tremendous sizes—a challenge, albeit a delightful one, for even the hungriest customers.

Try This: If you have the constitution for it, try a flight of three tequilas from one of the largest tequila bars in the United States. Start with a seemingly endless bowl of chicken soup with avocado, cilantro, scallions, serrano peppers, and pico de gallo, topped with tortilla strips. Then tuck into the huge Ensalada Tostada—a generous combination of mixed greens, black bean and corn salsa, guacamole, sour cream, seasoned beef, and salsa vinaigrette, served in a tortilla basket.

I’d Love to Hear From You!
