I could have gone inside to listen to the live music while having dinner in a cozy booth under smooth arches in the Elephant Restaurant, but the evening was far too pleasant to be indoors. Instead, I was escorted to one of the abundant outdoor tables in front of the restaurant and was offered a blanket in case I was chilly. The warmth emitting from the propane heater next to me was sufficient, but I appreciated the thoughtful offer. I also greatly appreciated the fantastic meal that I was about to embark on.
Try This: Warm up with a hearty Żurek soup with sausage, mushrooms, smoked bacon, and a boiled egg, all ladled into a bread bowl. I had already enjoyed a seafood dinner the night before at Kaszubska Marina, so, to mix things up, this time I selected the superb herb- and spice-crusted pork tenderloin escalopes with creamy mashed green peas, orange and yellow carrots, and baked potatoes, complemented by a fine Żywiec beer from a Polish brewery that’s been around since 1856. For dessert, the beautifully presented filo pastry with white chocolate mousse, blackberries, lingonberries, blueberries, and Nutella powder ends your meal perfectly.
