The hostess escorted me through the large dining space with a big bar and plenty of booths and tables with table lamps. Surrounded by fake animal heads on the walls, I took a seat next to the mechanical bull—a great source of humor and spontaneous conversation with anyone who passed by and offered up a comment or two. (My remark about it not working out between us elicited some loud guffaws from a group of ladies who asked if it was my date.) There’s a definite country vibe at Stagecoach, with a country music background and chandeliers held up by leather straps. And there’s a fantastic menu as well.
Try This: A chilly sweet iced tea will slake your thirst from a broiling Arizona day. Start with the beautifully plated smoked deviled eggs with bacon, paprika, pickled cucumbers, and chives. For your entrée, opt for the skirt steak, served with tomatoes, basil, and a gremolata chimichurri sauce. It’s accompanied by a fully loaded baked potato skin with pulled pork, cheese, sour cream, onions, and peppers (a meal in and of itself). Finish your dinner with the chocolate brownie cake with homemade vanilla ice cream, blueberries, strawberry, blackberry, chocolate chips, and red berry sauce.
